Hi, I'm ROBYN

Travel

If your email list has been living in the “I’ll get to it someday” folder, consider this your sign to keep reading.

Flodesk just launched something new called Flodesk Studio, an AI‑powered email design space that feels less like “another tool” and more like a cozy, light‑filled studio where your brand can actually breathe. It’s a standalone experience, built on completely new infrastructure, which means it doesn’t disrupt anything in your existing Flodesk account. And while it’s in beta, Studio is 100% free to use; there is no credit card and no hidden tiers; just an open playground for you to experiment in. Cue Justin Bieber “Hallelujah”.

I’ve been testing it behind the scenes for Bywood Media clients and my own email list, and it finally feels like email design was built for the way our creative, slightly overloaded brains actually work. I can’t be the only one with endless tabs open on my laptop. This helps me close at least half of them.

I want to walk you through what Studio can do, how I’m using it to introduce my new Showit Starter Guide, and why I think this combo could quietly change the way you show up online. Let’s GO!

What makes Flodesk Studio different

You know I’m picky about tools. I don’t have time for anything that adds more chaos, more tabs, or more “wait, how does this work again?” energy.

Here’s why Flodesk Studio made it past my filter:

Hours become seconds

In traditional email builders, an email can easily eat up two hours between picking a template, wrestling with blocks, and trying to make everything feel on brand. Studio flips that. You start with a simple prompt (what you want to say, who it’s for, and how you want it to feel), and Studio gets you about 80% of the way there in a single pass. It requires less template hunting, less blinking cursor, and gives you more time to spend on the fun, strategic part.

A head start, every time

You can begin from a prompt, from copy you’ve already written, or even just an idea in your head. If you don’t have a fully defined brand yet, you can start from one of Flodesk’s pre‑made brand presets, essentially beautifully curated starting points, and then layer your own touches over time.

Emails that are unmistakably yours

Studio lets you upload your fonts, brand colours, imagery, voice and tone notes, and business context. The app uses that information to assemble layouts that feel like your brand from the very first draft, even if you’re still refining the details. Every layout is built on a foundation of human‑designed components (thousands of blocks, type systems, and palettes crafted by Flodesk’s design team), and the AI’s job is to assemble them based on what you describe. It’s “accelerated by AI, finished by you,” which means your emails look like they’ve been art‑directed, not auto‑generated.

Edit your way

Studio gives you three directions: a visual layout, a banner‑style version, and a clean, plain‑text option.  You get to decide how hands‑on you want to be. You can refine via chat, asking Studio to adjust sections, rewrite copy, or change the emphasis, or you can dive straight into manual mode and fine‑tune every detail by hand. There’s a whole new library of blocks. It has headers, lists, testimonials, countdowns, quotes, bios, content sections, and more. You can build emails that feel layered and intentional without reinventing the wheel each time.

Works with any email provider

Studio is designed to be “design here, send anywhere.” Once your email is ready, you can send it through Flodesk or export clean HTML and bring it into any platform that supports HTML email, like Mailchimp, Klaviyo, beehiiv, or Kit. That means you don’t have to switch platforms to get beautiful emails; you can simply add Studio to the stack you already have.

Built with you

Right now, Studio is email‑first. Forms, pages, and other marketing pieces are on the roadmap, and the team is intentionally using this long beta window to build based on real user feedback. There’s no set pricing yet; while they’re in beta, Studio remains free as they learn what matters most to you.

Underneath all of this is my favourite part: Studio is trained on Flodesk’s human‑created design system, not on your subscriber data. Your lists and analytics stay safely in Flodesk, and Studio uses its own design library to do the heavy lifting. Soon you’ll be able to push your existing Flodesk brand settings (logo, colours, fonts) into Studio for an even smoother onboarding, fully under your control.

A peek inside the email I’m writing to you

Let me take you behind the scenes of how I’m actually using Studio this week.

I open Flodesk Studio and set my brand details, soft neutrals, clean modern typography, a little nod to 90s editorial layouts. Then I type a prompt that sounds something as simple as  this:

“I need an email for a lead magnet”

In seconds, Studio generates three complete emails for me: one with a strong banner and imagery, one a little more text‑forward, and one that leans into plain text for that “letter from a friend” vibe. All three are already in my colours and typography, with spacing, hierarchy, and structure that feel polished enough to send as‑is.

From there, I can start sculpting:

I can drop in a personal intro about why your inbox matters to me and why I’ve been resistant to “AI‑everything” tools in the past.

I might add a testimonial‑style block to share a little behind the scenes of how my clients feel when they finally have emails that look like their brand.

I can even pull in a countdown block for a gentle nudge to open the email when that Showit Starter Guide drops.

I could tweak the images, panning them inside the blocks until they sit just right, and adjust copy line by line until it sounds like me.

If I want to change something later, I just reopen the email from my Emails tab inside Studio, make the edits, and re‑export. Every email I create lives there, so over time it becomes a library of designs I can return to and remix instead of starting over again and again.

Introducing my Set Up for Showit Success Starter Guide (aka The Lead Magnet)

All of this leads to the core of what I’m sharing in that email: my Showit Starter Guide.

This guide is for you if:

  • You’ve been circling the idea of a Showit website but feel overwhelmed by where to start.
  • You care more about storytelling and client experience than chasing trends, but still want a site that looks like it belongs to a serious, modern brand.
  • You want a clear, gentle, “one thing at a time” path from idea to launch.

Inside the Showit Starter Guide, I walk you through:

  • Getting set up in Showit without getting lost on day one
  • Making intentional design decisions so your site feels like your brand, not a random template
  • Thoughtful ways to connect your website and your email list so your audience experiences one cohesive story, not disconnected touchpoints

A personal invitation to experiment

If you’ve been waiting for the “perfect moment” to finally show up in your subscribers’ inboxes with confidence, this is me taking your hand and saying: we can do this in a way that feels like you.

Flodesk Studio gives you the head start, turning what used to take hours into a few minutes of thoughtful direction and editing. The Showit Starter Guide gives you a path to build a home on the web that matches that energy.

You don’t have to switch platforms to try Studio. You can design your next email there, export the HTML, and send it from wherever you are now. Or, if you’ve been eyeing Flodesk for a while, this might be the moment to pair Studio with their main platform and see what it feels like to have your brand dialled in across the board.

When you’re ready, you can:

  1. Head to studio.flodesk.com and set up your free Studio account while it’s in beta.
  1. Join my list, and you will receive that first Studio‑designed email introducing the Showit Starter Guide

3. Sign up for Flodesk if you don’t already have an email platform and get 50% off (*affiliate link)

I’m excited to see what happens when your emails and your website finally feel like they’re part of the same story.
